A Special Contest for Parade Floats!
This year, the Town of Morristown is organizing a contest offering $ 1,000 in cash prizes for outstanding parade floats! The categories are:
- Most Historic - Floats that remind us of our local history or our nation's history. Let your creativity fly!
- Most Patriotic - Floats that celebrate the United States, now 250 years old!
- Most Creative - Floats that show a real spark in creativity - from ideas to execution.
- Youth All-Stars - All young people 18 and under will receive a medal for creating a float - be it a bicycle, skateboard, or wagon- participating in the parade, and contributing to our community. To receive the medal, all must register and head over to the float review area.
July 3rd
Come early and stay late!
- In the afternoon, bring your lawn chairs for a Concert in the Park with the 10th Mountain Division! 4 p.m. Chapman Park.
- Following the Concert in the Park, head over to the Morristown Fire Hall lawn for more music and festivities, then
- Fireworks at Dusk!
July 4th

- Morristown's 4th of July Parade and Review, 10 am. Floats in the contest will head over to the Judging and Review Area in the bus parking lot behind the school and next to the green Town Office/Highway Department building on Gouverneur Street. There is no need to pre-register; just join the parade and head to the review area, which will stay open for 1 hour following the parade. We invite all friends and families to take a closer look at the floats in the review area.
