The Communications Director is responsible for:
The Communications department was created in response to community surveys conducted in 2019 as part of the town's planning process. At that time, only 30% of respondents felt that the Morristown government did a good job of getting information out to residents. They called for more direct communication between elected officials and residents, and encouraged the use of digital or mail correspondence.
In the subsequent Morristown Comprehensive Plan of 2019 (updated in 2024), the committee identified clear goals to improve communications. These goals include an enhanced website, social media presence, and the use of other channels for the promotion of local activities and the promotion of tourism throughout Morristown, drawing on Black Lake and the St. Lawrence River as attractions.
The town's website was redesigned in 2024 and is updated weekly. Morristown Local was launched in January 2025. A system of text/email alerts was initiated in 2024.

The Communications Director is responsible for:
- Morristown Local: A regular newsletter informing the greater Morristown community of town meetings, local events, and community news.
- Emergency Alerts: A text message is sent directly to your phone and/or email to let you know of road closings, and issues that warrent immediate attention and possible action.
- Website Updates: Meetings and other town business announcements, staff contact information and updates, meeting minutes and recordings, community events and more.
- Other communications needs as required.
